Orang UtanOrang Utan is one of the great icon for Sabah state and Borneo island. Orang Utan direct translation is Man of the jungle. In the wild, it can be found dipterocarp forest area or primary forest.
Its physical characteristic may distinguish them from other apes where they have large, bulky body, a thick neck, very long, strong arms, short, bowed legs, and no tail. It is mostly covered with long, reddish-brown hair and grey-black skin. An adult male usually have wider cheek compare to female bigger body size.

Their behaviour for a day usuall y spending up on feeding for 2-3 hours and travel on the afternoon. They will end the day by making a nest for a night sleep. Feed on fruits, young leaves, shoots, bark, insects, honey and bird eggs.

For guest who have time limitation on travelling to Sandakan from Kota Kinabalu city. Don’t be worry cause with 1 hour of journey, you will have experience them NOT IN CAGE but open space of a small forest here in Rasa Ria Resort!

Is it good for children? Yes it is! Very educating tour for all age and will enjoy the naughtiness of the Orang Utan while them playing on top of the trees!

Itinerary

8:30 am Pickup by Our Personal to and drive within 1 hours to Rasa Ria Resort. Along the route, guest may experience the countryside of Sabah and crossing Gayang bridge and next to it is the view of Mount Kinabalu (depend on the weather). Upon arrival, guest will be greet and brief by the ranger. A short documentary movie clip will be show before the tour starts.

After finish the clip, follow the ranger with less than 10 minutes of hiking to Orang Utan feeding stand. Guest will experience the friend connection between the ranger and Orang Utan while hey having their meals. Orang Utan

12:00 pm tour finish and continue journey to Mari Mari Cultural Village
Guest may be expected to arrive at hotel around 5:00pm.
